  • 1/2 cup split yellow moong dal (lentils)
  • 2 cups water
  • Salt to taste

Serving Size: 2 servings

Equipment Needed: Pressure cooker or pot

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Cooking Time: 15 minutes (pressure cooking) or 30 minutes (regular cooking)


  • Wash the moong dal thoroughly.
  • In a pressure cooker or pot, add moong dal and water.
  • Cook until the dal is soft and mushy (around 15 minutes in a pressure cooker or 30 minutes in a pot).
  • Add salt to taste and adjust the consistency by adding more water if desired.
  • You can also add a pinch of turmeric powder for added benefits.
  • Serve the comforting and protein-rich moong dal soup hot.
